The princess and the giraffe

Haley was (surprise, surprise) a princess for Halloween this year - she decided to be Cinderella. We made plans for Kendall to be Tinkerbell (costume was courtesy of Marynell), but the weather was too chilly, so Kendall was a giraffe instead.

Haley's friend Kinlee trick or treated with us as well. Kinlee was a kitty cat.

Haley and Kinlee. Glass slippers aren't very practical for 40 something degree weather. We didn't have much trouble convincing Haley to wear tennis shoes instead.

We did not make it in before Kendall's bedtime, but she didn't mind.

Haley and Kinlee did a good job sharing their candy.

Kendall the Gremlin

Per Mara's request, I've captured video of Kendall growling for us. She actually only growls when she's happy. Her lack of growling this weekend, even when she wasn't crying, was one of the indicators that told us she wasn't feeling well.

A rare moment of Haley showing jealousy was also captured in this video. Forget the fact that I followed Haley around with a camera all day yesterday. She did not like me focusing on Kendall for a few minutes this evening. Then again, she (Haley) is also running a fever and obviously not feeling well, so if she's ever entitled to be a little jealous, now's as good a time as any.

What do you think? Would a devil costume or a puppy dog costume match her little growl sound the best? :) Kevin says she sounds like a tiger cub.

Curly Hair

I rolled Haley's hair with socks for the first time last night. I've never had much luck with curlers, and Mom suggested I try socks. I thought she would complain about sleeping with socks in her hair, but she was fine with it.

From September October 2008

I loved how it came out. The curls lasted all day long, and her head band stayed in her hair so much better than it normally does. Her hair was actually easier to fix and it stayed out of her face all day long.

Sick Little Girls

Does this sound like a baby with a double ear infection?

The girls have both been sick for awhile. I kept thinking it was a cold for both of them - Haley takes forever to kick her colds. Haley's cough got really bad the night before last. Poor Mom offered to have her spend the night with her that night, not knowing what she was in for - everyone in the W household was up from 3:30 AM on.

We've called the drs office a few times, but we didn't take them in until today (Kevin called yesterday after Haley and Marynell's rough night, but we couldn't get them in until today). Kendall has a double ear infection, and Haley has a sinus infection and a little ear infection - this is the first time ever Haley's been diagnosed with an ear infection. While Kendall has been fussier than normal, I never would have guessed that both her ears were infected. The poor little child is just too happy.

I took off one day this week with Kendall, so it was Kevin's turn today. He just LOVES sick children. He got to take the two of them to the dr and watch them all day. As soon as I got home from work, he went in our room, closed the door, and started playing XBOX 360;)

Kendall and Marie

Cousin Helen watched Kendall one day this week so that I could take Haley to the fair for a big kid day. Baby K got to play with Marie and Jake.

Nothing keeps a baby girl's attention like her older siblings :) Here are the girls watching the big kids.

From September October 2008

Aren't these beautiful girls? Helen tried a few times to fix Kendall's hair. She wet it, brushed it down and put a bow in it. Each time she did this, it only lasted a few minutes before it started sticking up again.

So, I guess Marie decided that maybe SHE should try to help Kendall with her hair ;)

Could these girls be any cuter?

Spend the night party with Jackson

Jackson spent the night at our house for the first time this weekend. He did a great job being away from home.

When Kevin, Haley, and Jackson played outside, Jackson had plenty of helpers ;)

From September October 2008

At first, we thought that little Jackson had eaten about twice as much dinner as Haley. This was before we saw how much of it ended up on the floor.

From September October 2008

When we played with the microphone, I sang a little 'ooh ooh' tune. Jackson thought this was great. He sang it himself, and then put the microphone in my face so I would sing it. This was repeated SEVERAL times. :)

From September October 2008

Jackson slept in a big kid bed for the first time - what a big boy. He did a great job. Believe it or not, he was ASLEEP when I took this picture. He opened his eyes when the flash went off. He also turned from his side to his back. I immediately hit the floor ;)

From September October 2008

Jackson got a good night sleep and was SO happy the next morning. He was happy to eat his oatmeal.

Handsome boys...

Jackson also went to our early church service AND Sunday School with us, and he did a great job there, too. He and Haley were in the same class during the worship service, but he was with other toddlers only during Sunday School. The kids played on the play ground afterward. They were not too excited to take a group picture for me.

We can't wait for Jackson to stay with us again!

Boo and Pumpkins

I love baby K's Halloween pjs. The view from the back is pretty cute...

But this is still much cuter!

From September 2008

We went to pick out pumpkins tonight. Haley picked out a pumpkin for our front porch, and she also picked out a small pumpkin just for her.
